Andrea Kennerley ®
As a dancer, Andrea was introduced to Pilates more than fifteen years ago. She received full certification under the direction of Carla Hales of STOTT PILATES®. She also teaches Yamuna body-logic ball-rolling, a muscle release technique that has direct application to Pilates work.
Andrea specializes in rehabilitative exercise. Her passionate interest in mind-body fitness has lead her to study yoga, deep tissue massage, and somatics. She is continually expanding her expertise through training, workshops and lectures with internationally renowned specialists, physical therapists, and other experts in the fields of mind-body fitness. Most recently she has done anatomy and posture workshops with Marie-Jose Blom-Lawrence and prenatal workshops with physical therapist and author Sherri Betz.
She is mom to two beautiful girls and along the way has become a resource on prenatal and postpartum health and fitness. |

Joseph Levinson ®
Joseph enjoys using Pilates-based movement therapy to work with people in all different phases of life, exploring and finding new ways to enjoy their bodies and to live in better health.
Joseph was a professional ballet dancer for 20 years. He danced in England, the U.S., Taiwan, and Japan. A knee injury brought him to the Sports Medicine department of St. Francis Memorial Hospital, where he was introduced to Pilates, working and studying with Mercy Sidbury, Julie Lushington, and Elizabeth Larkham.
After recovering from his injury, Joseph returned to dancing for another four years. Then he ended his dancing career but began another by joining the Dancemedicine Department (Pilates) at St. Francis.
After teaching Pilates, Joseph took an opportunity to teach and choreograph ballet in Japan, with his wife Yuko Katsumi. They lived in Japan for three years, and then returned to the Bay Area, where he returned to his work at the Dancemedicine Department. He continued his Pilates training with Nora St. John and received his certification at her Turning Point Studios.
In addition to Pilates, Joseph continues to teach and choreograph ballet in the U.S. and in Japan and Taiwan. |

Christine MacDonald ®
Chrissy has been teaching health and fitness since she was fifteen. She's a jazz dancer who came to Pilates after a serious car accident. She started rehab on Pilates equipment and realized that Pilates was the closest thing that could keep her feeling like she was in dance training.
She decided to become a Pilates trainer in order to help other people gain a significant level of flexibility and health for themselves.
For the past six years, Chrissy worked in the Dancemedicine Department at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, so she has specific experience with rehabilitation.
Chrissy has worked as an aerobics instructor, including nine years directing an aerobics program for a swim and tennis club in Redwood City, as well as being a personal trainer in weights and cardio.
She danced and taught Pilates in NYC, where she worked with a number of Broadway performers — from the Lion King, Rockettes, Moving Out — as well as opera singers from the Met. In SF, she has taught at dance studios, including Rhythm and Motion, ODC, City Ballet, Jane Kellam's School of Dance, Marin Ballet Theatre, andStep One Dance Academy. In addition, she was an Oakland Raiderette and is still dancing with SRO — an R&B orchestra. |
