Pilates exercises may be performed on a mat or on specially designed apparatus that works the entire body uniformly.

Matwork focuses primarily on strengthening the trunk and deep abdominals, while the apparatus also emphasizes the limbs for a full-body workout. The apparatus is a great way to assist or challenge you, helping to increase your range of motion and flexibility, to correct misalignments, and to increase your strength.

The Pilates exercises emphasize flexibility while working the muscles, focusing on variety and quality of movement with fewer repetitions, so that by the end of the workout, you will feel centered, as well as lighter, taller, and refreshed.

Strength is built from the ground up. Matwork exercises are the cornerstone of the Pilates method, with numerous exercise options and scores of modifications that can be performed in a group fitness or personal training context.

The STOTT PILATES® Professional Reformer is used to develop strength without bulk, while increasing flexibility, coordination, and balance. The sliding platform is anchored at one end with springs and can be moved by pulling on ropes or pushing off from a stationary bar. Exercises include the challenge of moving the platform and maintaining balance, while sitting, kneeling, or standing.
The STOTT PILATES Cadillac challenges the body in different planes of motion, encouraging the body to move more efficiently and fluently. With springs for resistance in some exercises and support in others, it is ideal for rehabilitation, enabling development of one side that might be weaker than the other. From spring-assisted sit-ups to advanced acrobatics, the Cadillac offers exercises for all ages and abilities.
The STOTT PILATES Stability Chair helps rebalance muscles and provides a full-body workout. Exercises are done by pushing on the bar while either sitting, lying, or standing on the bench or on the floor. It is ideal for those needing to stay in a seated or upright position. It also facilitates high-performance exercises for athletes and the very fit.

STOTT PILATES Barrels are used for aligning and mobilizing the spine, improving posture, and developing balance and control.

The Arc Barrel's gentle curve helps to decompress and lengthen the spine. The Ladder Barrel challenges core strength and stability while increasing flexibility.

Foam Rollers, Stability Balls, and BOSU Balance Trainers are designed to activate core stability and enhance functional fitness. Performing exercises on an unstable base of support engages deep stabilizing muscles to maintain body position, resulting in increased workout efficiency and delivery of faster results.

Resistance props such as Fitness Circles® and Flex-Bands® are used to develop muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. They are excellent for targeting and strengthening specific muscle groups used for sports such as golf or tennis, but can be used for all ages and abilities.
